Family Free Nights
Join us on the third Saturday of each month for Family Free Nights. The museum is open until 8:00 pm, and admission from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm is FREE. Please note: this event is intended for families with children ages 0-6. Parent supervision is required at all times.

My Grandparent and Me Day
The second Friday of each month celebrates grandparents by offering free admission all day to grandparents when accompanied by their grandchildren.

Museums for All
This program allows low-income families to visit the museum for a discounted admission fee of $2 per person, with the presentation of a valid EBT card and picture ID. Please note: Although EBT cards can be used as payment in places like grocery stores, it is not used for payment with this program. It is shown simply to identify the visitor(s) as qualifying for Museums for All. Payment must be made using cash or credit card. Up to four people per EBT card may be admitted at this reduced fee. This discount applies to regular museum admission only, and does not apply to special events or programs.
Blue Star Museum Program
(Year Round, beginning May 29, 2017)
Free admission for ACTIVE-DUTY military personnel and their families (including National Guard and Reserve). Valid military ID required. (Please note: Blue Star Museums is a collaborative program of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the U.S. Department of Defense. Reciprocal Admission Programs
MHCM is an active member of both the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) and participates in their reciprocal admission programs. Admission discounts vary and geographic restrictions apply.

MHCM is located a few short steps from the Poughkeepsie train station making a day excursion convenient and fun! “One-Day Getaway” packages are available on the MTA Metro-North Railroad to the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum.
