Would you like to help us empower young children and their families? If so, consider volunteering! Volunteering your time, talents and skills at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum is a great way to make a positive difference in the lives of children.
The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum’s Volunteer Program is open to individuals age 18+ who are looking for a meaningful way to contribute their valuable free time. Volunteers help make museum experiences memorable for guests.
Volunteer schedules are flexible and training is provided. We work to match your skills and interests with the needs of the museum. Volunteers may assist in multiple departments.
Special Events: MHCM hosts many events throughout the year, attracting families from throughout the region. Special Events volunteers assist museum staff in set-up, facilitating projects, and attending to general guest needs to ensure events run smoothly.
Museum Floor Staff: Are you outgoing with a passion for working with young children and families? Join the museum’s Guest Services team to enhance guest experiences by helping families get the most out of exhibits and programs. Assist museum staff during birthday parties, special events, and general museum hours to provide fundamental operational support.
Educational Programs: Perfect for volunteers with a specific interest in early education or with a skilled background in art, science, engineering, or literacy development. Work with our Education team to facilitate Science Cart Demonstrations, lead Art Studio Activities, or bring story books to life by reading aloud to children.
Have another volunteer idea? Tell us about your unique skills and interest!
